Student Respiratory Therapist Pulmonary Care Unit

• Job Summary
  • The respiratory therapy student employee is responsible for performing specified, limited respiratory therapy procedures under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner. This individual will assist respiratory care practitioners in the provision of care to patients and their families and will perform assigned duties and responsibilities according to institutional and department specific policies, procedures, and guidelines. Direct administrative supervision will be the responsibility of the Respiratory Care Services Department Head.
• Education
  • Must be currently enrolled and have completed the first semester in a respiratory therapy program accredited by CoARC or successor organization.
  • Completion of at least one pediatric clinical rotation in respiratory therapy recommended.
• Experience
• Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  • Must have submitted both Verification of Employment and Verification of Enrollment forms to the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Must possess current Basic Life Support certification.
