Consulting Psychiatrist - System Chief Clinical Officer

The Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County, also known as ADAMH, is seeking a part time psychiatrist to assist in providing consultative psychiatry services to the Board and system staff. ADAMH, a levy-funded county agency, partners with more than 30 nonprofit agencies located in neighborhoods throughout the county to provide accessible and affordable behavioral health services. Our dedicated network of providers offers life-changing possibilities to individuals and families living with mental health or addiction issues.
Primary Responsibilities/Expected Outcomes:
- Provide expertise to the ADAMH Board and system staff on clinical matters
- Ensure clinical functions are carried out in accordance with duties as defined in Ohio Revised Code (ORC)
- Consult in matters of agency-wide strategic planning, quality improvement and risk management
Position Title: System Chief Clinical Officer (Consultant/Part-Time)
Core Competencies/Demonstrated Skills:
Current license in good standing with the Ohio State Medical Board required.
Subspecialty certification or experience in at least one of the following areas: Administrative Psychiatry; Forensic Psychiatry; Addiction Psychiatry; or Child Psychiatry preferred.
Three (3) years’ work experience in mental health, alcohol and drug treatment.
Two (2) years’ work experience in public administration and human services.
Able to work effectively with a wide variety of culturally diverse clients, staff and public.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to adapt written and spoken messages to a wide variety of audiences.
Able to adapt to changing environments by using problem solving, analytical and team building skills.
Awareness of current developments and trends in professional area and successful in applying developments to current situations.
Ability to operate effectively as part of a team as leader and team member.
Successful experience operating in a public agency in a position of high visibility and accountability.
Able to supervise others by providing open, two-way communication that supports the achievements of goals.
Able to work effectively with culturally diverse partners (internal and external).
This position is a part-time independent consultant. Terms are negotiable.
Not eligible for ADAMH Board of Franklin County benefits.
