The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Cell, Developmental, & Integrative Biology, is seeking a Scientist I.



General Responsibilities

  • To employ a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in a particular field of specialization.
  • To plan, coordinate and conduct research.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Plans, coordinates and conducts scientific research requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard scientific techniques.
  2. Designs, performs and/or oversees experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control and protocol compliance.
  3. Collects, analyzes and interprets data; prepares statistical and narrative reports and/or graphs.
  4. Supervises and/or performs equipment maintenance, operations and quality control procedures.
  5. Performs and/or oversees new research procedures.
  6. Serves as principal investigator on sub-projects of complexities.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.


Annual Salary Range%2463,125.00 - %2475,000.00


  • Doctor of Philosophy, D.V.M. or M.D. degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
  • ORM.D. and Master's degree.
  • ORMaster's degree and four (4) years of related experience
  • ORBachelor's degree and six (6) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
