Position Summary:
Oversee complex or multiple research projects and providing strategic direction. This professional-level role involves mentoring junior researchers, managing project budgets, and ensuring the integrity and quality of research outcomes. Conduct experiments in support of CF research. This role combines hands-on research support with administrative and managerial responsibilities to ensure the lab runs efficiently, meets compliance standards, and supports high-quality scientific research.
As a Researcher Senior, you will have expanded responsibilities, overseeing complex or multiple research projects and providing strategic direction. This professional-level role involves mentoring junior researchers, managing project budgets, and ensuring the integrity and quality of research outcomes. Your expertise will be critical in guiding experimental design, data interpretation, and contributing to high-impact publications. Depending on the research focus, this position may involve research participant contact, research animal contact, and/or specimens.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs basic theoretical and experimental scientific and technological investigation.
- Provides advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job related training and considerable lab work experience.
- Supervisors and instruct experiments conducted by graduate and undergraduate students.
- Assist with equipment and supply evaluation, procurement, and maintenance.
- Provide technical expertise and support for research projects, ensuring efficient and effective use of lab resources.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations, including the organization, procurement and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and space.
- Collaborate with researchers to optimize workflows and troubleshoot issues.
- Analyzes the most complex technical problems and delivers solutions where precedent may not exist.
- Provide technical expertise and training to new staff and students related to CF experiments.
- Coordinate and conduct training sessions on lab safety, protocols, and common laboratory techniques for staff and students.
- Prepares documented observations and analysis and performs a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency.
- Act as a team lead in the development and maintenance of protocols (IACUC, IRB, rDNA, RAM) to ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Facilitate activities with regulatory offices (IACUC, IRB, EHS) for inspections and compliance reviews.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with DEA-controlled substances, including purchase, disposal, and record-keeping.
- Evaluates study results using statistical and multivariate analysis, may involve assistance in publishing findings.
- Provides technical support by performing complex research related tasks.
- Performs a variety of the complex tasks and proposes improvements to processes.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure timely reordering.
- Work with departmental administration to track and audit laboratory expenses and budget appropriately onto grants
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: %2460,835 - %2498,855
Doctorate degree in a related field OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
