UAB Temporary Services is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Assistant. This role supports specialized and complex scientific research activities by collecting, recording, maintaining, and analyzing data and information. The Research Assistant will work under the direction of a Principal Investigator or Lab Manager and contribute to a variety of ongoing research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collects, records, and maintains data in support of scientific studies.

• Assists with determining protocols and conducting literature reviews related to research objectives.

• Performs a variety of laboratory procedures, assays, and techniques independently and accurately.

• Troubleshoots and adapts laboratory equipment and procedures when faced with methodological challenges.

• Serves as a knowledgeable resource for laboratory technicians and assistants; provides supervision and guidance as needed.

• Assists in the preparation and editing of grant proposals and scientific publications.

• Ensures laboratory equipment is functioning properly and orders necessary supplies.

• Maintains compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Bachelorrsquo;s degree in a scientific or related field required; advanced coursework or relevant experience preferred.

Previous laboratory or research experience stronglypreferred

.Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently with sound judgment and attention to detail
