FOR USE BY UAB IT ONLY: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CLIENT EQUIP SERVICES TECH-ENT to provide accurate and timely IT Client Equipment services to supported UAB administrators, faculty, staff, and students to include incident resolution and request fulfilment of a moderate to complex nature. To obtain IT equipment, assign asset tags, and purchase cellular equipment and wireless services. To receive, prioritize, document, and actively resolve IT Client service requests and to escalate incidents when considered appropriate and necessary to maintain service-level agreement (SLA) expectations. To perform defined processes and adhere to standard operating procedures. To prepare IT equipment for clients. To resolve issues with faulty IT equipment using basic troubleshooting and technical skills. To receive and manage inventory and ensure security of assets while in inventory. To record changes in inventory in an asset management database. To assist with monitoring and reconciling changes in inventory. To perform administrative duties including and not limited to scanning documents, scheduling appointments, and shipping and receiving packages. To maintain accurate information and data regarding incident and request response and asset management within the IT service management (ITSM) tool.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responds to service requests for supported IT clients and systems. These include and are not limited to requests to obtain IT equipment, assign asset tags, and purchase cellular equipment and wireless services. Escalates requests to the next level as required, while maintaining ownership of the request through resolution.
2. Prepares IT equipment for use. Prepares and configures UAB owned equipment for client use. Troubleshoots and repairs IT equipment, and coordinates vendor repair when necessary. Escalates equipment issues to the next level as required, while maintaining ownership of the issue through resolution.
3. Assists with warehouse operations. Tasks include and are not limited to receiving IT equipment, recording incoming and outgoing inventory in an asset management database, and performing physical counts of inventory.
4. Perform administrative duties as assigned. These include and are not limited to scanning documents, scheduling appointments, and shipping and receiving packages.
5. Maintains accurate information and data regarding incident and request response and asset management in the ITSM tool.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
(Hourly Rate: %2419.80 - %2425.75)
Associate's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a Related Field and one (1) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
