ROLE: Taproom Manager

PURPOSE

The Taproom Manager is charged with overseeing daily operations in the taproom, leading Front of House team members and ensuring all guests receive an unparalleled experience. The ideal candidate is committed to excellent service, is detail-oriented, can exercise judgement and work independently, and above all has very strong leadership skills and is ready to set the tone for the taproom staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management:

  • Hire, train, and manage Taproom staff
  • Maintain a clean, friendly, and welcoming environment for all guests at all times
  • Managing the booking and coordination for all events hosted in the taproom while keeping a calendar of booked events
  • Creation and execution of Standard Operating Procedures for key tasks in Taproom operations
  • Set example of engaging customers, making sales, and answering questions
  • Proactive management of taproom performance and implement measures to ensure continued growth
  • Oversee key vendor partnerships
  • Participate on the leadership team, and maintain a proactive and dynamic line of communication between front of house staff and leadership teams
  • Assist the team as needed with special projects and collaborate in a constructive manner with all levels of the organization
  • Clean tap lines and tap kegs as needed on prescribed intervals
  • Maintain appropriate stock of product and communicate with Production/Logistics departments to ensure enough product on hand for business needs
  • Adhere to all policies and goals of Beltway Brewing Company, including accountability for cost control
  • Responsible for supervising bartenders and delivery team including: training, development, and execution of their roles and responsibilities
  • Order and receive all merchandise, products, and supplies for the Taproom and keep detailed documentation of inventory as necessary

Administrative + Facilities:

  • Clean equipment and facility daily
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory and control of beer, supplies, and merchandise
  • Forecast anticipated pull-through in the taproom, ordering product as needed and communicating future needs to our production and sales teams
  • Ensure compliance with all ABC/TTB regulations and complete and accurately maintain all required paperwork and records
  • Work with coworkers to obtain appropriate documentation, ensuring proper filing of reports with TTB and ABC
  • Maintain cleanliness of and coordinate maintenance resolutions for the following: restrooms, plumbing, de-icing, zoning, and trash removal around building 
  • Stay current on trends, issues, etc. throughout the craft beer industry
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Proven skills and experience in guest-centric supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with restaurant POS systems
  • Must be able to regularly lift and maneuver full kegs (approximately 160 lbs)
  • Must be able to crawl, crouch, or climb as needed
  • Beer or alcohol related industry experience is strongly desired
  • Potential work week Tuesday-Saturday schedule
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Collaborative team player with a positive “can do” approach
  • Ability to hold self and teammates accountable to achieve a high level of quality, productivity, and service
