Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively interviews members and potential members. Asks questions and listens carefully to determine the appropriate products and services to offer. Presents products and services in a positive, professional and knowledgeable manner, so inquiring individuals can make an informed decision. Opens new products and services while following appropriate procedures to verify personal identification. Processes various types of consumer and business loan applications. Performs account maintenance, which includes but is not limited to: changes to members personal information such as address and telephone numbers, name changes due to marriage, divorce, etc., adding and removing joint members, check ordering and issuing temporary checks and assists with Internet Banking enrollment. Performs Teller Transactions as required. Resolves some member problems independently. Makes outbound calls for onboarding new members and developing opportunities for improving relationships between members and the credit union. Escalates more complex problems or situations to a higher authority for appropriate resolution. Consistently meets or exceeds sales and quality goals.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
A minimum of one-year experience in member/customer facing in a financial institution is preferred. Ability to process financial transactions. Must possess and utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must possess and utilize excellent listening skills. Must be proficient in the use of the Internet and Microsoft Office.
Education:
High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
Physical Requirements:
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Interpersonal Skills:
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
