Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our manufacturing team. This role focuses on the design, build, maintenance, and troubleshooting of precision tooling used in high-speed metal forming operations. Candidates with prior experience working on US Baird and Waterbury Farrel presses are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling, dies, fixtures, and components
Set up, troubleshoot, and support production on US Baird and Waterbury Farrel presses
Diagnose tooling and press-related issues to minimize downtime
Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and specifications
Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators
Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve tooling performance
Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and related equipment
Maintain accurate documentation and follow all safety and quality standards
3+ years of experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment
Previous hands-on experience with US Baird and/or Waterbury Farrel presses required
Strong knowledge of progressive dies, transfer tooling, or cold heading processes
Proficient with manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders); CNC experience a plus
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
