Trailer Technician / Trailer Mechanic – Trailer Repair & Maintenance

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and mechanically inclined Trailer Technician / Trailer Mechanic to perform trailer maintenance, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on large trailers. This position focuses exclusively on trailer systems, trailer body components, lighting systems, tires, and structural repairsno tractor, diesel engine, or truck engine work required.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a willingness to learn in a team-focused environment. This role also includes driving a company service truck to complete mobile service calls and participating in an on-call rotation.

If you have experience in trailer repair, fleet maintenance, heavy equipment repair, diesel shop environments, automotive repair, preventative maintenance, or mechanical troubleshooting, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs and trailer body repairs on large trailers

  • Diagnose trailer issues and determine appropriate repair solutions

  • Repair and replace trailer components, including:- Bumpers

    • Tires
    • Lighting systems
    • Interior trailer components
  • Complete routine trailer inspections and preventative maintenance

  • Perform maintenance and repair work to support trailer safety and operational performance

  • Drive a company truck to complete mobile service calls and on-site repairs as needed

  • Maintain accurate repair orders, maintenance records, and service documentation

  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain compliance standards

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe

  • Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every 4th week (additional compensation provided)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Mechanical experience required (automotive repair, trailer repair, fleet maintenance, diesel shop experience, or equipment repair preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and repair equipment safely
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, standing, and working with tools
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a company service truck
  • Willingness to learn company-specific trailer systems and repair procedures
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment
