Seeking a skilled and motivated Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the development of transmission systems and infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality solutions to meet our clients' needs. Successful candidates may be placed in Transmission Engineer I - III titles depending on level of experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-voltage transmission lines and systems, including route selection, structure design, and conductor sizing.
  • Perform foundation design & analysis, structural analysis, stability analyses to ensure the reliability and safety of transmission lines.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and drawings for transmission projects.
  • Prepare detailed engineering bid packages.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot existing transmission systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including NERC, FERC, and local codes.
  • Utilize advanced software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS_POLE, AutoCAD) for system analysis and design.
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to assess transmission infrastructure and identify potential issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in transmission engineering.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure 
  • 5+ years of experience in transmission engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with overhead and underground distribution systems is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in transmission line design software such as PLS-CADD, AUTOCAD, M-FAD, LPILE analysis, or similar.
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical data, analyze structure calculations and design distribution level lines if needed.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including NESC, IEEE, RUS and ANSI.
