Job DetailsFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Transplant Coordinator RN for a 13 week travel assignment in Anchorage, AK. Required Qualifications:- One year of recent experience as a Wound Care nurse
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
The Wound Care Nurse is a specialized healthcare professional responsible for assessing, managing, and treating patients with acute and chronic wounds. This role involves developing individualized care plans, providing wound care treatments, educating patients and families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote optimal healing and prevent complications.
Essential Work Functions:- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' wounds, including measuring wound dimensions, assessing tissue type, and evaluating signs of infection or delayed healing
- Create and execute individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic wounds, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, and other conditions
- Provide education to patients and their families on wound prevention, proper wound care techniques, and strategies to promote healing
- Administer wound care treatments, including debridement, dressing changes, negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), and application of advanced wound products
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure wound care aligns with overall treatment goals
- Provide wound care in a variety of environments, including hospitals, outpatient wound care clinics, long-term care facilities, home health settings, and rehabilitation centers, adapting care to the unique needs of each setting and patient population
- Accurately document wound assessments, treatments, progress, and patient education in the patient medical record
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is required
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
- Interpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
- Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Sensory - Visual acuity, ability to effectively communicate.
