This is an excellent opportunity for an advanced skilled journeyman level work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of medium and low voltage electrical and electronic control systems found in the wastewater pumping facilities. This position performs skilled electrical repair tasks in accordance with standard practices of the electrical and electronics trade. Work involves the mechanical and operational aspects of wastewater pumping equipment and its installation. Uses electronic test equipment and calibration equipment on both energized and de- energized electrical circuits. Responsible for maintaining flowmeters, chlorine meters, volt/ohm meters, ammeters, electronic pressure transducers of various types, portable volt/amp recorders, capacitance meters, ground resistance meters, megohm meters, and a variety of other meters. Incumbent must exercise sound judgement and initiative in resolving complex electric, electronic, electro/mechanical and other maintenance related problems. Assignments are made either orally or through written work orders and may be accompanied by diagrams or blueprints. Work is reviewed through completion records, conferences and observation of results obtained. Good communication and a high level of documentation is an important function of this position. This position is “Essential”. Incumbent will be required to work overtime during and after hurricanes or other disasters and be available to respond to emergency calls days, nights, weekends and holidays in a timely manner. Performs other related work as required.
