About the Job
As a Validation Engineer, you will be on the new product development team, working to deliver high-quality signal conditioning devices that extend cable/backplane reach and enable higher data rates for our customers. You will be a key team member responsible for ensuring the functionality and performance of our signal conditioning re-timers and repeaters in applications such as PCIe Gen4/5, USB3, and HDMI2.1. In today’s connected world, there is strong demand for increased data throughput, higher data rates, and longer cables and interconnecting media. You will enable these applications as a Validation Engineer by planning and developing test automation, as well as collecting and analyzing data to quantify and thoroughly characterize device performance. You will write clear and concise reports comparing lab data with spec and lead the lab debug effort to resolve any discrepancies to ensure the highest quality products for our end customers.
+ Develop and execute comprehensive Silicon validation plans on signal conditioning repeaters and re-timers
+ Create Automation of complex bench measurements using python and internal frameworks
+ Drive the lab debug to resolve complex engineering problems and ensure high-quality products for our customers
+ Schematic Design and layout of Silicon Validation Boards (SVB) using Cadence or Altium Designer
+ Work on a cross-functional team, cooperating with other functional groups such as design, test engineering, applications, and systems engineering to debug complex issues to ensure quality parts for our customers.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline 5 years of experience or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) 2 years of experience
+ Working knowledge of common lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Sampling scope, Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT), etc.
+ Strong software development skills (python experience preferred) to automate complex tests and integrate several different instruments into a single measurement system
+ Familiar with analog signal-conditioning building blocks and concepts: Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters, Pre-Emphasis, Linear Equalizers, and Clock, Data Recovery circuitry
+ Knowledge of high-speed signal integrity and board layout techniques for impedance control at signaling rates of 10-32 GBPS NRZ. PAM4 signaling is a plus.
+ Familiarity with common serial communication interfaces for IC configuration such as I2C, SMBus, & SPI is a plus
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, global team environment with other technical departments and manage multiple priorities.
