Eastern Animal Hospital has beene referred to as “Baltimore’s Best Vets”, and we are thrilled to serve our clients in a state-of-the-art facility with wellness care, urgent care, surgery, doggie daycare, and luxury boarding services. We are an AAHA accredited practice, a designation that few practices in North America have been awarded!

Position Purpose

Our state-of-the-art facility is built to handle a wide range of situations needs from wellness and sick cases, to surgery and dental procedures, and urgent care/emergency needs. Our large, experienced staff combines their expertise with your skills to provide the highest quality medicine to patients.

At this time we're looking to add to our GP team, however if you want to pick up some UC/ER shifts, that could be available in the future. That said, if your interest is primarily centered on wellness, chronic/sick patients and surgery/dentals, we'd love to talk with you! Our team is highly skilled and will set up your exam rooms with clients, so you can just walk right in! And from an equipment perspective, we have everything you would expect in an updated, technologically advanced practice such as ultrasound, digital radiographs, etc!

We welcome doctors with all experience levels, and strong mentorship is available for those just starting out. We're looking forward to inviting you into our practice!

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range
