POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for directing and supervising the financial affairs of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the philosophy of Grace Inspired Living. Directly supervises the combined business office with responsibilities for all internal and external financial reporting, regulatory reporting and maintenance of appropriate internal controls. Also directly supervises the development office with responsibilities for all fundraising.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for oversight of the total finance department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, internal accounting control and monthly reporting.
  2. Establish policies and procedures for finance department and financial functions within the organization.
  3. Coordinate and prepare annual budget for presentation to Management, Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
  4. Oversees preparation of monthly financial statements including balance sheets, statement of operations, cash flow and patient census, etc.
  5. Responsible for oversight of the Development Department including fundraising and cultivation events, grants, capital campaigns and donor tracking.
  6. Responsible for various regulatory reporting including PA Department of Insurance, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Public Welfare, Internal Revenue Service, PA Department of Revenue and other agencies.
  7. Coordinate, supervise and assist with annual external audit.
  8. Prepare financial projections or proformas for evaluation and various opportunities.
  9. Manage, direct, and supervise the finance and development departments including hiring qualified applicants, providing proper orientation and training, scheduling and distributing work, reviewing work, conducting annual employee reviews and provide general oversight.
  10. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing and coordinating new and existing computer hardware and software for the finance and development departments.
  11. Assist with the annual bidding process for employee insurance and retirement programs.
  12. Attend educational programs to enhance job and supervisory skills.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.

Required

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  2. 7 years accounting experience in a not-for-profit organization, preferably a Continuing Care Retirement Community, as CFO.

Preferred

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  2. 5 years’ accounting experience in Healthcare including experience in third party reimbursement systems (Medicare & Medicaid).
  3. 3 years managerial experience.
