We are hiring a VP Finance/Controller for an upstart Hedge Fund/Venture Capital Fund. This role will work directly with the Founder and the CFO/COO.  It will provide tremendous flexibility. Work week will be 20-30 hours a week with the option to scale further down the line. Benefits are included which are 100% paid even for dependents.  Given the Founders track record, they have raised over $800M+ for their first ever Fund 1!

  • Design and implement daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for an investment fund (focus on public securities)
  • Manage back-office trading infrastructure including reconciling trades, managing wire transfers, integrating with reporting infrastructure.
  • Financial modeling for portfolio construction
  • Have oversight of third-party administrators and middle/back-office service providers, who are responsible for the reporting of position valuations and performance, reconciliation of cash and the calculation of month-end and quarter-end net assets.
  • Review Variance analysis
  • Monitor reporting of financial and other information from each Fund investment
  • Board of Directors meeting focused on Fund Accounting & Finance Teams performance
  • Assist with the fund audit process and research questions from auditors.
  • Develop and maintain efficient internal controls and business processes.
  • Assist in writing standard operating procedures, recommend and implement operational enhancements, and maintain compliance with operational policies and procedures
  • Manage and perform special projects and analysis for firm leadership
  • Assist in the planning of new funds and product types to ensure that operational efficiency
  • Review processes and look to improve efficiency where possible.



  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in the investment management industry
  • Proven track record of growing businesses as CFO, Controller and / or VP of Finance
  • Private equity, hedge fund or venture capital based company experience
  • Track record of progressive career development
  • Prior Big 4 and CPA license is preferred
  • Strong experience in accounting, administration, and financial reporting for investment funds
  • Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
  • Must be highly process-oriented and have experience with organizational control environments
  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Self-starter who can operate in a fast-paced environment and can work independently and responsibly with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, follows tasks through to completion and has a high sense of urgency
