About the role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse operations in our Chicago location. These operations include shipping, inventory, and delivery. Your goal will be to increase operational efficiency and ensure a safe environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of 80 - 150 employees and ensure efficient and safe operations of shipping activities.
  • Provide cross-functional leadership from the front lines and optimize productivity, encourage innovation ideas.
  • Drive and continuously improve the day-to-day operations in a fast-growth environment, analyzing shift performance to identify operational opportunities, and potential cost-saving improvements to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of customer orders
  • Manage daily staff schedule in accordance to budget and/or business needs by utilizing the staffing model designed by department.
  • Identify, interview and train talent for the department including but not limited to coaching, training, scheduling, disciplinary functions and execute matrixes and standards of continued excellence.
  • Follow through: Food Safety, GMP's, HACCP, Safety Compliance and FD's policies.
  • Support and participate various company projects, initiatives and programs as needed.
  • Maintain clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate strategically with a high-level thinking yet is well versed in the daily operation of a warehouse.
  • Experiencing managing KPIs and using data to identify and address deficiencies.
  • Working in an environment with varying temperatures
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant, fast-paced work environment, comprehensive background in pick/pack, shipping, receiving
  • e-Commerce retailer experience preferred
  • Communication skills – must have good listening skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Support and participate various company projects, initiatives and programs as needed.
  • Capacity to follow detailed processes and procedures while offering creative improvements to those processes.
