Weather Observer (Yukon Flats Project)

The Yukon Flats Project is recruiting for its seasonal exploration program in Birch Creek, Alaska, running between June and October.    

The Weather Observer’s role is to provide FAA-approved weather observations to approved air carriers and provide flight control guidance for aircraft on approach to or on the runway.  Conduct regular runway inspections and communicate deficiencies. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

• Provide FAA-approved weather observations to approved air carriers 

• Provide flight control guidance for aircraft on approach to or on the runway 

• Conduct regular runway inspections and communicate deficiencies 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must maintain certification as Weather Observer Established by NOAA, reporting under METAR system 

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) 

• Must be 21 years of age 

• Possess a valid driver’s license
