Seeking 3 experienced Stick Welders for a scrap steel yard in Belleville, MI. Candidates need at least 1 year of recent stick/arc/SMAW welding experience. The position offers $18.00-$19.00/hr, temp-to-full-time, day shift only, with schedules Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Responsibilities include welding on heavy equipment, scrap containers, and structural steel, repairing damaged metal, cutting and preparing metal, inspecting equipment, and ensuring safety in outdoor conditions.
Qualifications include proven stick welding experience, ability to weld in multiple positions, familiarity with heavy steel, reading welding symbols, and reliability. Physical demands involve lifting up to 75 lbs, standing, bending, and working outdoors. Preferred experience in scrap yards or heavy equipment repair is a plus. Overtime opportunities are available. The work environment is outdoor, noisy, and exposed to weather and machinery.
