Welding Lead

We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our welding team at a prominent industrial company. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $28-$33 per hour and operates Monday through Friday, from 7am to 4:30pm.

The role involves balancing hands-on production with supervisory duties, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met.

• Team Leadership: Supervise, coordinate, and assign daily tasks to a crew of welders and fabricators based on project needs.
• Hands-on Welding: Perform complex welding and fabrication tasks, often specializing in MIG, TIG, or arc welding on industrial caster components.
• Quality Control: Inspect final products against blueprints and specifications to ensure welds meet quality standards and are free of defects.
• Training & Mentorship: Coach and onboard new or junior welders, sharing best practices and reinforcing proper techniques.
• Operational Management: Monitor workflow, maintain inventory of welding supplies, and ensure equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Safety Enforcement: Implement and enforce strict safety guidelines to minimize hazards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Experience: Usually requires 5–10 years of professional welding and fabrication experience, with prior leadership or supervisory roles.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting weld symbols, and using various precision measuring tools.
• Certifications: AWS (American Welding Society) or ASME certifications are often required or highly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities to act as a bridge between management and the shop floor.
