About the role

The Delivery Specialist is a functional role that includes the operation of shuttle and tractors to move trailers as needed for operations and the loading and unloading of trailers. To assure team continuity across all warehouse operations, this position may also be required to learn, perform, and or be certified to assist within other areas of Warehouse Operations including material & inventory, Distribution, Traffic, or others as assigned.


The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure timeliness of execution, appropriate safeguards to protect during transit, and / or other. Interacting with Distribution, Operations, and Material Control to identify and meet business requirements.

What you will do

  • Drive company vehicle between sites moving material as instructed
    • Tractor, shuttle, Dock Truck, Van, and / or Car may be required
  • Timely loading and unloading of freight as required using forklift and / or other material handling equipment
  • Protect vehicle contents from damage at all times
  • Fuel vehicles as needed
  • Maintain FMCSA compliance at all times including logs, paperwork, safety, and records
  • Obey all local traffic and safety laws
  • Work collaboratively with sending and receiving sites making sure all business needs are met
  • Communicate challenges timely and effectively bringing related improvement ideas to leadership
  • Assure appropriate labeling / paperwork is included with cargo if required
  • Report equipment damage / maintenance issues immediately
  • Maintain a neat and safe work environment
  • Follow all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasks
  • Maintain and engage in promotion of a safe work environment
  • Must work overtime as required to meet business needs

What we are looking for

  • High School graduate
  • 2 years advanced education preferred
  • 4 years related disciplines experience required
  • Current Commercial Driver’s License required for any vehicle greater than 26,000 pounds
  • Pass DOT Physical including drug screen
  • Pass MVR requirements
  • Defensive driver training as required
  • Previous forklift experience (counterbalance) preferred, if none, ability to become certified required
  • Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to continually meet all ADA factors as detailed within this job description
