Location: Onsite - CBP Headquarters at the Ronald Reagan Building (1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC, 20004). Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense (DoD) active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information. Salary Range - $17-$21 per hour Job Summary: Medical Billing Secretary I needed to support Customs Border Protection/Office of the Chief Medical Officer in preparing, verifying, and processing a wide variety of medical billing and other clerical documentation for services provided to patients. A Department of Homeland Security background investigation is required (will delay actual start date a few months). Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Prepare, verify, and process a wide variety of medical billing for services provided to patients.</li><li>Perform accurate and timely data entry of codes and other information into electronic billing software programs.</li><li>Perform reconciliation of remittances, post payments to patient accounts and research and resolve discrepancies.</li><li>Provide information and assistance to other support staff, supervisors and managers regarding medical coding and billing procedures to ensure accurate data is available for medical billing.</li><li>Prepare statistical data or reports concerning billing activities and statistics.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Qualifications: <ul><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital, medical office or public health setting preparing and processing electronically generated medical billing.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Detailed-oriented, self-starter experienced in supporting medical technical and business professionals.</li><li>Knowledge of and experience in Office 365, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.</li></ul>Benefits: <ul><li>Employer Paid Medical Insurance</li><li>Dental and Vision Insurance</li><li>401k</li><li>PTO</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement</li></ul>Physical Requirements: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
