The company had an initial public offering in 2004, becoming one of only four publicly traded self-storage real estate investment trusts (REITs). The company is worth an estimated $10.24 billion today.
Extra Space Storage Job Opportunities
Many Extra Space Storage jobs are for local stores across the country. Because Extra Space has expanded significantly in recent years, the company is almost always hiring for store manager (retail sales/customer service) and assistant store manager positions. Occasionally, managers handle more than one store, so Extra Space prefers candidates who will travel among locations. Assistant and store managers typically need at least one or two years of experience in sales or customer service.
You'll also find Extra Space Storage jobs at the corporate level. At the lower end of the spectrum are jobs like accounts payable clerks, which require accounts payable and computer experience as well as a high-school diploma. At higher levels, you'll find jobs like senior director of the national sales center, search engine optimization manager, human resources information systems manager, and paid search strategist. Extra Space's corporate jobs are primarily out of its Salt Lake City, Utah headquarters.
