SUMMARY:The Certified Medical Assistant functions as a member of the patient care team, contributing to the health management of the patients; performs a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for Clinic patients, many in assistance to section physicians and under the direction and supervision of the Practice Manager; maintains primary responsibility for all technical procedures and the operation and care of the nursing unit in the department. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Formal training which will probably be indicated by certification from an accredited medical assistant program; medical terminology; typing skills at least 55 wpm; experience with computers/data entry; current CPR certification required; two years broad medical experience; excellent organization and communication skills.
