PriceRite opened its doors in 1995 through a subsidiary of Wakefern Food Corporation. The first store opened in West Springfield, MA, and since that day, PriceRite has opened over 50 more locations throughout the Eastern Coast. PriceRite supermarkets offer its customers "impossibly, inconceivably, incredibly low grocery prices everyday." Part of their business model is to focus more on the customer experience and less on advertising. Without the cost of advertising, PriceRite is able to offer more affordable prices than its competitors. PriceRite now has stores in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia and is based in Wethersefield, Connecticut.
Most PriceRite stores are small, focused on providing no-frills shopping for customers to have a quick, easy and affordable experience when buying their groceries. There are, however, newer stores opening, including one over 50,000 square feet that's expanding on traditional PriceRite stores with seafood counters, delis and a caf?. Although some of the PriceRite stores are expanding, the company still focuses on affordability and friendly customer service no matter what the size of the store.

There are several opportunities for retail jobs, such as Assistant Store Manager, who is responsible for improving profitability by maintaining store conditions.
