In this role, you will play a critical part in advancing our protein and protein conjugate therapeutics by developing and implementing advanced LC-MS analytical strategies that support discovery and early process development activities.</p><p>This is an opportunity to contribute at a high scientific level - designing innovative analytical solutions, influencing drug discovery direction, and collaborating cross-functionally to solve complex research challenges. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in protein characterization and quantitation, along with the ability to translate analytical findings into meaningful insights that drive program decisions.</p><p>You will serve as both a scientific leader and hands-on contributor, independently developing and optimizing analytical methods while mentoring junior scientists and helping shape analytical strategy within the team.</p><p><em>Responsibilities                                      </em></p><ul><li>Develop project and technical strategy within area of expertise</li><li>Apply advanced scientific principles, theories and concepts to a broad range of research problems and develop innovative solutions for analytical problems related to drug discovery and development</li><li>Design and execute analytical studies to facilitate drug discovery and platform development in various disease areas</li><li>Independently design and initiate development of analytical methods and improvement of existing ones</li><li>Serve as a project coordinator for on-going and new analytical method development</li><li>Work independently and collaboratively with teams to solve scientific /technical challenges</li><li>Develop and validate analytical methods to quantify and characterize drugs and impurities</li><li>Conduct sample analysis, analyze data/results, interpret the outcome of experiments and integrate scientific findings to gain further understanding of drug properties or synthetic/purification route</li><li>Represent team to present research findings to cross-function teams</li><li>Identify, propose and lead areas for initiatives /improvement</li><li>Influence and support drug discovery/development directions with scientific findings</li><li>Train and mentor junior scientists in the team</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><em> </em><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>PhD in analytical chemistry or close related fields with 2+ years relevant industry experience</li><li>Strong hands-on experience of using LC-MS and HPLC for proteins/protein conjugates characterization and quantitation</li><li>Expertise in sample preparation, peptide mapping, MS/MS peptide sequencing, glycosylation analysis, disulfide bond mapping, and post-translational modifications analysis</li><li>In-depth understanding of protein chemistry and analytical chemistry</li><li>Familiar with routine maintenance of mass spectrometers</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li><li>Excellent ability for data interpretation and integration</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills</li><li>Ability and willingness to learn cutting edge technologies</li><li>Ability to prioritize the workload and adapt to fast changes</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred</strong></p><ul><li>Open mind and willing to learn new technology</li><li>Experience with a wide range of analytical techniques</li><li>hands on experience with CE or MALS is a plus but not necessary</li></ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="title" style="font-weight:600;padding-top:8px">Wisconsin pay range </div><div class="pay-range">$125,000—$145,000 USD</div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Arrowhead provides competitive salaries and an excellent benefit package.   </p><p>All applicants must have authorization to work in the US for a company.   </p><p><a href="https://arrowheadpharma.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Arrowhead-California-Applicant-Privacy-Policy.pdf" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">California Applicant Privacy Policy</a></p></div>
