DEPARTMENT: TRANSPORTATIONPOSITION: TRUCK DRIVERWORK RESPONSIBILITIES:The duties of the Truck Driver as determined by SunEnergy1 standards are to include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Responsible for transporting cargo from one place to another using tractor-trailer trucks or other company owned vehicles as needed</li><li>Operate trucks with a capacity of at least 26,001 pounds gross vehicle weight</li><li>Deliver cargo while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes, intrastate</li><li>Load and unload cargo</li><li>Keep truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order</li><li>Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel</li><li>Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road</li><li>Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion</li><li>Plan routes using maps or satellite tracking; get cargo to site on time, safely</li><li>Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs</li><li>Follow all applicable traffic laws</li><li>Perform pre-trip inspections and record any defects found</li><li>Keep a daily log of activities</li><li>Record amount and type of cargo being delivered</li><li>Transport hazardous materials</li></ul>WORK REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>Valid CDL Class-A license required</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle</li><li>Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred</li><li>Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations</li><li>Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations</li><li>No recent moving or driving violations</li><li>Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly</li><li>Ability to multi-task</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Must be able to relate to people</li><li>Must have the ability to work individually or as a team</li><li>Must be self-motivated</li><li>Must be well organized and detail oriented</li></ul>

JOB TITLE: Truck Driver – (OTR)DEPARTMENT: VABSFLSA: Full-Time; Hourly; Non-ExemptDURATION: Open Until FilledHIRING RANGE: $20.00/hour - $30.00/hour with Shift Premium (depends on experience)  POSITION PURPOSE:The Truck Driver is responsible for pick-ups and deliveries to and from assigned locations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:·         Attendance during the normal work hours is an essential function of the job to ensure work goals are met and customers are served.·         Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.·         Operate tractor trailer and follow provided route plan for pick-up and delivery of plant product.·         Ensure load is secure before moving the vehicle.·         Complete daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and report findings to supervisor.·         Ensure electronic log device (ELD) is operable and complete daily logbooks of activities as back up only.·         Upon arrival of destination make sure all BOLs are signed and a copy return to VABS.·         May be required to work different shifts as well as overtime and fill in for other drivers as needed.·         Maintain a safe work environment while driving and onsite at clients’ locations.·         At the end of the day complete daily post check vehicle inspections when destination is complete and vehicle is parked.·         Stay up to date with and adhere to DOT standards.·         Maintain valid CDL and DOT certification as required for commercial truck drivers.·         Stay knowledgeable of safety regulations and hours of service by reading safety manuals and HOS guides.·         Other duties as assigned.  QUALIFICATIONS:Must have a valid Class A North Carolina CDL and at least 3 years of commercial truck driving experience. Good driving record. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as required based on business need. Must be available to drive long-distance (over-the-road) routes three to four days per week to Charleston, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina. Occasional local driving may be required throughout the week as needed. One night per week to Michigan.  Skills & Abilities: Provide excellent customer service; Display good oral, written, and listening skills; ability to work independently. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
