Armed Security Guard Job Education Requirements

While most companies prefer hiring armed security guards with high school or college diplomas, the industry does not have set requirements. Individual states, however, often have rules about who can work as an armed guard. People with criminal backgrounds are often barred from the position. Since some states have strict gun laws, it's important for armed guards to know the rules where they work.

Previous experience in a management or supervisory role may also help guards qualify for this position.
