Responsible for construction safety and quality of work performed.<br/><br/></div><div>Responsible to work with designated team and assist in project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The construction manager responsibilities span a broad spectrum and interact with several entities, both internal and external.</div><ul><li>The Construction Manager will bring about optimum utilization of resources-labor, materials and equipment, and ensure their procurements are at most the cost-effective terms.</li><li>Implementation of various operations through proper coordination.</li><li>Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants.</li><li>Monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with construction documents, Augusta Health standards, work schedules and cost estimates.</li></ul><div><br/>This position plays a critical role in supporting Augusta Health’s mission and advancing departmental goals through measurable performance indicators and service excellence. This position contributes to a collaborative, patient-centered environment and helps drive outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>Essential Job Duties:</strong></div><ul><li>Coordinate communications within Augusta Health for all project-related service interruptions to access utilities and traffic in order to minimize conflicts and avoid construction delays.</li><li>Monitor construction projects to ensure that procedures, materials and equipment comply with approved project plans, specifications and samples, owner standards and quality.</li><li>Oversee the construction project from start to finish.</li><li>Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.</li><li>Maintain liaison between contractor, project manager, and consultants during construction to resolve field problems, and to maintain project schedule and budget.</li><li>Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule.</li><li>Coordinate the efforts for all parties involved in the project, which include the architects, consultants, contractors, sub-contractors and laborers.</li><li>Interpret blueprints and specifications for contractors to ensure compliance with construction plans and specifications and obtain additional information from the project architect when necessary; recommend changes to documents for ease of construction.</li><li>Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams.</li><li>Maintain liaison with contractor, architect and owner to discuss modifications and adequate solutions to project problems</li><li>Coordinates with team in design development of project sketch installation and location of equipment such as amplifiers, power supplies and cables; complete material orders needed for planned construction.</li><li>Monitor contractor performance; insure adherence to terms and conditions of agreements.</li><li>Coordinate construction efforts through in-house and contract labor for new construction and rebuild projects.</li><li>Perform site inspections for quality control.</li><li>Coordinate permitting.</li><li>Generates complex project reports.</li><li>Creates and maintains project files.</li><li>Be familiar with specifications, show drawings, and submittals.</li><li>Maintain projects lists and close out documentation.</li><li>Interface with general contractors and subs and be detail oriented with follow up skills.</li><li>Responds to inquiries from department personnel regarding assigned project status.</li><li>Assists department personnel in organizing work relating to specific assigned project deadlines.</li><li>Prepare daily reports of project activities and other reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and conclusions.</li><li>Coordinate and assist with final inspections: monitor completion of the punch list.</li><li>Monitor and document change orders from initiation to completion of construction and payment.</li><li>Review and recommend approval of payment to contractors for quantities of materials received or used and work completed during specific periods.</li><li>Review projects at end of warranty period for non-compliance items.</li><li>Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.</li></ul><div><br/><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor's degree required in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or appropriate related field.</li><li><strong>Licensure/Certification:</strong> Required licensure/certification(s)</li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction projects is required.</li><li><strong>Driver's License:</strong> Yes <ul><li>To drive an Augusta Health Vehicle, must also be 21 years old and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management.</li></ul></li><li>Eligibility to work in the United States and meet Virginia state employment requirements</li></ul><div><br/><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> None</li><li><strong>Licensure/Certification:</strong>  <ul><li>Project Management Professional preferred.</li><li>Certified Healthcare Constructor preferred.</li><li>Class-A Contractor license, in addition is valuable.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Experience:</strong><ul><li>Prior project management experience and experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.</li></ul></li><li>Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare system, or related service-oriented environment</li><li>Familiarity with Augusta Health’s systems, workflows, or organizational culture is a plus</li></ul><div><strong>Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></div><ul><li>Excellent written and communication skills</li><li>Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office</li><li>Demonstrated time management skills</li><li>Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment</li></ul><div><br/><strong>About Augusta Health</strong></div><div>Augusta Health is an independent, nonprofit, mission-driven health system located in Fishersville, Virginia, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.
