MSK is also dedicated to providing diverse educational opportunities to develop further the skills and ambitions of our medical technologists and technicians, laboratory managers, and laboratory directors. Our experts also play a vital role in clinical research through contributions we make to the development of new laboratory tests and diagnostic platforms! Interested in hearing more? We are currently seeking a part-time Laboratory Technologist III to join MSKCommack Clinical Laboratories. Role Overview:<ul><li>Prepare and analyze samples according to written standard protocols; Assist with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures.</li><li>Operate equipment carefully and according to procedures; Help maintain commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems.</li><li>Assure equipment and instruments meet performance standards.</li><li>Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures.</li><li>Perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work of the laboratory.</li><li>Functions as supervisor in supervisor's absence. </li><li>Reviews workload and workflow and makes recommendations on procedures to improve efficiency and to respond to changes. </li><li>Monitors staff activities to assure accurate, thorough completion of work; Notify supervisor of discrepancies and record corrective action taken.</li><li>Updates procedures when appropriate and assists in writing new technical procedures.
