Responsibilities:
What You’ll do As a Logistics Analyst, you will be supporting the organization through detailed logistical analysis, reporting, and inbound transportation. <ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>Lead negotiations with carriers to obtain competitive rates, mitigate price increases and ensure carrier capacity.</li><li>Monitor open orders for key suppliers to proactively plan carriers and assist in following up on late shipments. </li><li>Ensure the internal rate management system is kept current by timely entering negotiated rates. </li><li>Regularly perform logistics analysis to determine cost efficient routing and lowest cost carriers, utilizing carrier capacity, rates, and performance history.</li><li>Work with partners (internal and external) to coordinate solutions for daily transportation and logistics operational issues.</li><li>Serve as point of contact in assigned area as it relates to order entry, status questions, supplier issues or logistics challenges.</li><li>Perform various analysis such as cost comparison (prepaid versus collect program options), network optimization reports, etc.</li><li>Utilize inventory tools to determine the most optimal time and manner of shipping goods.</li><li>Works under general supervision. Position requires the exercise of independent judgement.  </li><li>Establish an open line of communication with Purchasing, Operations and Warehousing to discuss order status, logistics and operational challenges, market shifts, etc. </li><li>Partner with Rural King’s private fleet to coordinate backhauls for their trucks</li><li>Route shipments through a PO Management system</li><li>Confirm deliveries are made on scheduled dates</li><li>Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. </li><li>Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars.
