Front Desk Accounting Workers Job Overview

Front Desk Accounting Workers perform many of the same tasks that clerical workers and receptionists do. Accountants help business owners determine their budgets, file taxes on the part of others and ensure that their clients follow all the rules of the state. They may also specialize in a specific area of accounting, including forensic accounting or taxation accounting. Front Desk Workers do little with the accounting work, but they need to understand how to use the software found on the office computers. They also talk with current and potential clients who come through the door, respond to questions via email or over the phone, file paperwork and perform other tasks as needed.

Front Desk Accounting Workers Job Education Requirements

Though Front Desk Workers do not need a college degree, they do need a high school diploma or a GED. Most accountants look for workers with experience in receptionist or customer service positions. Front Desk Workers need to know how to work effectively with clients and have strong customer service skills. Organizational skills, communication skills and technology skills are also needed for the job.
