The goal is to prepare you for full-time employment so we can confidently encourage you to apply for Daktronics positions after graduation.   As the Trade Compliance/Global Logistics Student, you will work as a member of the corporate logistics team in our sourcing department, a corporate entity in the manufacturing division of Daktronics. The corporate logistics team manages the relationships with our freight services suppliers, including freight forwarding and customs brokerage. You will be assisting our U.S. factories with imports, exports, and trade compliance needs, as well as work with our international subsidiaries on their imports. The focus will be on assisting with initiatives to drive continuous improvement. The majority of the work will be logistics or compliance projects where you will have the opportunity to interact with internal customers and external vendors via phone, email, and meetings.      The Trade Compliance/Global Logistics Student will develop skills and gain experience in:  <ul><li>Prioritizing </li><li>Problem solving</li><li>Strategic thinking</li><li>Regulation research – U.S. and International</li><li>Application of trade compliance requirements  </li><li>Analyzing data to drive and/or support initiatives  </li><li>Improving processes – planning, implementing, and documenting  </li><li>Managing small projects  </li><li>Communicating professionally – written and oral  </li><li>Developing business relationships - interacting with individuals internal to Daktronics and externally that engage with Daktronics on business activities </li><li style="margin-bottom:0in">Working in Excel, Word, etc.  </li></ul>When will I work?Applicants should be available to work approximately 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer. Where is this opportunity located? This position has opportunity to work from a US-based home office; however, there is a need to be within a commutable distance (approximately two-hour driving distance) to US Daktronics campuses (Brookings & Sioux Falls, SD and Redwood Falls, MN). Travel to US Daktronics campuses could happen during the summer and/or during school breaks.  What are the pay and perks?The typical hiring range for this position is $14.00 to $16.00 per hour based on the location of South Dakota. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.  Students with GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 Academic Excellence Reward for each spring and fall semester completed while employed.  Additional conditions may apply.  This position is eligible for a subset of our company benefits including employee discount program, employee assistance program, community donation program, unpaid time off, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, leaves, disability and accommodations. Qualifications:
To be considered for the Trade Compliance/Global Logistics Student position, we require the following: Academic Requirements:<ul><li>The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits.</li><li>Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in International Business, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field.</li><li>The preferred applicant will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.</li><li>Only strong academic performers will be considered and must maintain an acceptable GPA (preference to 2.5 GPA or greater). </li><li>Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application.</li></ul>Other Requirements: <ul><li>Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Driving Eligibility Requirements. Qualifications: Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
