Siege Media is seeking an experienced and strategic VP, Business Development to lead our sales and new client acquisition efforts. If you require reasonable accommodation to complete our application or interview process, please let us know.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting high-potential high growth startup + enterprise technology accounts within content marketing, SEO, and PR. </li><li>Set and implement the roadmap for growing our business development team, including a potential team of one account executive and one sales operations specialist.</li><li>Contribute to intro and proposal calls/buildouts and with potential clients, serving as the backup to our account executive when needed and to assist in generating additional business.</li><li>Set clear performance metrics, sales objectives, and pipeline targets aligned with Siege Media's strategic growth goals.</li><li>Manage an ABM strategy with the sales operations specialist via in-person events and breakfasts/lunches with our CEO in addition to other events.</li><li>Manage relationships with high value referral partners, helping grow the channel and increase the number of referrals. </li><li>Develop an outbound sales strategy based on previous successes, leveraging high quality case studies with existing network relationships and Siege brand awareness.</li><li>Continuously refine our consultative sales approach, leveraging CRM systems and data-driven insights to optimize forecasting accuracy and sales efficiency.</li><li>Work with client services to grow existing client accounts, developing strategies to upsell and grow existing accounts with additional services.</li><li>Collaborate closely with marketing, client strategy, and executive leadership to ensure cohesive execution of client acquisition and retention initiatives.</li><li>Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to enhance strategic opportunities and drive business growth.</li><li>Travel sporadically to conferences (3-4x/year expected) and/or engage regionally to build relationships with partners, potential and current clients.</li><li>Provide regular reporting and analysis of business development performance, pipeline status, and market trends to executive leadership.</li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and client-centric sales excellence.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>7+ years of progressive business development and sales/marketing leadership experience, preferably within content marketing, SEO, or agency environments.</li><li>Demonstrated track record of successfully scaling revenue through strategic sales and client acquisition strategies.</li><li>Ideally located in an area where our buyer persona is prominently located, i.e. New York City, San Francisco, Austin or other U.S. tech cities.</li><li>Deep expertise in consultative enterprise selling, sales methodologies, pipeline management, and digital marketing services.</li><li>Ideally, existing relationships with our existing potential customer base (Manager/Director/VPs of Growth/SEO/Marketing).</li><li>Proficiency with CRM and sales enablement tools (ideally Pipedrive).</li><li>Exceptional leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities, fostering professional growth and high performance.</li><li>Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and sales execution.</li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.</li><li>Proven ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally and align diverse stakeholders around shared business objectives.</li><li>Willingness to get hands dirty as the sales department grows and support is needed across sales functions.</li></ul>Compensation:<ul><li>Compensation: $140-$160k base, $210-$250k OTE</li><li>Benefits: Quarterly bonus structure, comprehensive health benefits, 401(k) match, unlimited PTO, wellness stipends, and ongoing professional development opportunities.</li><li>Growth Opportunities: Siege Media plans several acquisitions over the next few years.
