Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the hydroelectric facility work site where there is exposure to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The successful candidate will:Partner with Corporate EH&S Manager, Division Managers, Regional Managers, and Operations Field Personnel to ensure hydroelectric project facility compliance with Company Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and risk reduction protocols and procedures.

Position Summary: Opportunity for remote work (requires some travel) for an independent and self-motivated safety professional. The successful candidate will:<ul><li>Partner with Corporate EH&S Manager, Division Managers, Regional Managers, and Operations Field Personnel to ensure hydroelectric project facility compliance with Company Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and risk reduction protocols and procedures</li><li>Lead, manage and enforce environmental, health, and safety on several hydroelectric dam and powerhouse facilities</li><li>Identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and or property damage using sound judgement and cooperative approaches</li><li>Manage annual training requirements in collaboration with Corporate EH&S Manager and Division/Regional Management</li><li>Assist in coordinating training and proactively identify opportunities for improved training and culture steering.</li></ul>While this position is advertised as remote, we are only considering candidates currently residing Albany, NY, Middletown, NY, or Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA areas due to the travel expectation associated with the role.  Why Eagle Creek?<ul><li>A comprehensive benefits plan: Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, Commuter benefits, Voluntary Life, 401(k) match.</li><li>Eleven paid holidays per year, plus a competitive PTO schedule and time off to volunteer or give back to your community.</li><li>Access to a company-funded Employee Assistance Program.</li><li>Employee discounts through ADP LifeMart.</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement as well as access to trainings & mentors for Career Progression and Personal Development.</li></ul>What You'll Do:<ul><li>Build working relationships with operations staff and contractors.</li><li>Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the overall company environmental, health, and safety protocols.</li><li>Maintain and manage environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures for the workforce.</li><li>Provide new employees environmental, health and safety orientations and assist with developing/updating materials for these presentations.</li><li>Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards and government regulations; completing audits when traveling to various work sites.</li><li>Investigate incidents/accidents to identify causes or to determine how such incidents/accidents might be prevented in the future.</li><li>Investigate health-related complaints and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations.</li><li>Maintain inventories of hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly (Safety Data Sheet maintenance).</li><li>Work independently. Manage time and resource allocation appropriately to provide overall environmental, health, and safety assistance to the field.</li><li>Create environmental, health, and safety reports, documentation, and write-ups for sites, analyzing metrics and making recommendations for improvement over baseline.</li><li>Evaluate training needs and make recommendations to site staff.</li><li>Oversee or conduct environmental, health, and safety training programs and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.</li></ul>Position Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.</li><li>At least three (3) years of environmental, health, and safety experience OR equivalent mix of education and experience.</li><li>A minimum of OSHA 30-hour training, First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED training.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques is required.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions.</li><li>Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing and train others.</li><li>Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.</li><li>Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required (travel time 30-50%).</li></ul>Physical Requirements:<ul><li>Able to regularly travel for the company, including air travel when needed.</li><li>Physical ability to stand, walk, and remain active for the majority of the workday.</li><li>Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary ladders or stairs, navigate passenger use of personnel hoists, and the ability to walk/climb/navigate uneven surfaces and negotiate active work areas as needed.</li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.</li><li>Performing this job requires use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.</li><li>Ability to hear bells, alarms, whistles, etc.</li><li>Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</li></ul>Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the hydroelectric facility work site where there is exposure to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
