Must be available outside normal hours as needed Travel: 25% Overnight Travel is required to assist other sites, attend company events, audits, and conferences and visits to regulatory authorities  The Environmental Health & Safety Engineer ensures compliance with all federal, state and local safety, environmental and transportation regulations and is responsible for all aspects of the site safety and environmental programs and for implementation of internal safety and environmental programs<del> </del>  Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)<ul><li>Oversees safety and environmental compliance for the Bloomfield facility including day to day operations, incoming spent carbons, air permit, wastewater discharge and stormwater requirements</li><li>Assists with EHS duties at other facilities as assigned by Manager</li><li>Participates in daily plant meetings, Inspects the plant daily, provides safety and environmental training to employees</li><li>Prepares all annual and periodic environmental reports for the assigned facilities including but not limited to all SARA reporting, DMR, annual air permit certifications, deviation reports and others as required</li><li>Prepares permit renewal applications and modifications for air water and waste permits</li><li>Develops and or implements environmental programs for the Bloomfield facility</li><li>Other EH&S projects to Support the Bloomfield facility or other Calgon Carbon location as assigned by the Director of EH&S</li><li>Implement Calgon Carbon and Kuraray corporate safety and environmental requirements</li><li>Performs daily site inspections, interacts with employees, contractors and management to assure day to day operational safety</li><li>Supports an accident-free culture</li><li>Performs Behavioral Based Safety Observations  </li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>A bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (A degree in environmental sciences, engineering, chemistry, or other technical discipline/work experience is preferred)</li><li>3-5 years of EH&S Management experience is required</li></ul> More about Calgon Carbon, A Kuraray CompanyWe are a company of scientific innovators with over 205 patents.
