A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Albuquerque or Farmington, New Mexico, offices.</li><li>Work environment: some fieldwork locations include difficult terrain typical of backcountry (e.g., dense vegetation, fallen timber, poor footing soils, streams), roadway, and construction sites. Work may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of construction or industrial facilities. Safety training will be provided.</li><li>Physical requirements: walking up to 10 miles per day in extreme temperatures of up to 90+ degrees Fahrenheit.</li></ul>About you - required core competencies<ul><li>Education: bachelor's degree in environmental science, studies, or policy; ecology; natural resources management; biology; botany; or a related natural resources field.</li><li>Experience: 7 years of relevant experience related to the job responsibilities described above.</li><li>Regulatory knowledge: working knowledge of the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, National Environmental Policy Act, as well as state and municipal regulatory expertise in New Mexico.</li><li>Travel: ability and willingness to travel to site and client locations about 25% of the time. Time spent traveling will vary based on office location and client needs.</li><li>Driver's license: must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.</li><li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.</li></ul>Helpful additional experience (not required)<ul><li>Experience with arid west geographies, bird identification, and plant identification.</li><li>Experience with renewable energy siting and permitting.</li><li>Experience with public engagement.</li></ul>CompensationAnticipated range of $80,000-$100,000 annual salary.
