Wylie is a town with a rich history that spans over 130 years. Today, we have an outstanding school district with over 15,000 students; a historic downtown area that reminds us of our roots; growing commercial and retail developments throughout the city; a City staff dedicated to the betterment of our community; and almost 50,000 citizens who have made Wylie their home.
We have many interesting things for you to enjoy within our community. Wylie offers diverse shopping opportunities including the specialty shops in the historic downtown area; a scenic, challenging golf course at the Woodbridge Golf Club; outstanding library services for citizens of all ages at the Rita and Truett Smith Public Library; parks and playgrounds for our young families and the young at heart; and we close out the year with our famous Wylie Arts Festival, Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. There definitely is something for everyone.
