North East Independent School District

North East Independent School District came into being in 1949 in the reorganization of the Texas Education System under the Gilmer-Aiken Law, which combined 7 separate common school districts with a total of 756 students. Today, NEISD is the second largest school District in San Antonio with a student population of approximately 67,000 students.
