About Northern State University
Setting: Northern State University is organized into the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, and the School of Fine Arts. Graduate programs are offered at the master’s level in administration, counseling, and teaching and learning through the School of Education. The School of Business offers a Master’s degree in Banking and Financial Services accredited by ACBSP. Its Center of Excellence in International Business is accredited by the Network of International Business Schools. The School of Fine Arts enjoys a long tradition of excellence and has recently completed $1.75 million in art facility upgrades and a $14.5 million dollar renovation and addition to the Johnson Fine Arts Center. A new residence hall is slated to open fall of 2017 and two more residence hall are scheduled to open in fall 2018. Northern offers a broad-based athletics program, sponsoring 15 NCAA Division II intercollegiate varsity sports that compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
