Employees at PJM work collaboratively to maintain the reliability of North America's largest centrally dispatched electric grid and to operate one of the world's largest competitive wholesale electricity markets. PJM is an independent, federally regulated regional transmission organization, or power grid operator. PJM coordinates the movement and trade of wholesale electricity in all or parts of 13 states and the District of Columbia, keeping the lights on for 61 million people in the region.
