Tri-State Generation and Transmission

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. is a non-profit, consumer owned, wholesale electric power supplier headquartered in Westminster, Colorado. Tri-State generates and delivers electricity to its member systems throughout a 200,000 square mile service territory that covers Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming and New Mexico.

Nearly 1,200 people work at Tri-State to keep the lights on for 1.5 million member-consumers served by the 44 electric distribution cooperatives that jointly own Tri-State.

Tri-State operates and maintains fossil fuel power plants with owned coal-fired capacity of 1826 megawatts, gas turbines with 526 megawatts of capacity, and over 5000 miles of high voltage transmission lines.
