Position Overview

This role serves as the Database Administrator (DBA) for a small analytics team, owning the data architecture, data governance, and end-to-end user access management for multiple analytics programs and datasets. The DBA will play a key role in supporting the team's modernization initiative, migrating from a legacy SAS platform to a modern reporting framework, while partnering closely with Data Specialists, Data Scientists, and report builders to ensure a consistent, high-quality data experience.

Key Responsibilities

•       Serve as the Database Administrator (DBA) for a small analytics team, maintaining the intended data architecture, implementing data governance, creating and managing database objects, and documenting the architecture and program-specific flows.Own end-to-end user access management, including triaging access requests, obtaining approvals/denials, communicating results, granting access, and administering role-based access controls.
•       Serve as the Data/Product Owner for multiple analytics programs and datasets, collaborating with the broader team to ensure consistent architecture and user experience.Support the team's modernization initiative, migrating from a legacy SAS central platform to a modern reporting framework.
•       Coordinate, test, and implement changes to Snowflake databases, correcting errors and modifying databases/DBMS as needed.Author, troubleshoot, and performance-tune SQL views and queries; build and maintain data pipelines (ETL) and job orchestration, including cloud scheduling such as AWS Lambda.
•       Build and improve data sets and reporting for owned programs, and support customer inquiries on available data, enhancements, and general support.Advise and support the data needs of Data Specialists/Scientists and report builders, performing joint planning to avoid duplicative or conflicting outputs.
•       Assist in managing the team's broader technology footprint, which includes Snowflake, SAS, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, Power BI, and Tableau.

  Team & Work Environment

  Team of 6.
•       Onsite position based in Mossville, IL, with in-office collaboration.Frequent, detailed communication is required on a daily basis.

  Education & Experience

•       Bachelor's degree preferred with 2-4 years of relevant experience.Associate's degree in computer programming or a related field required.

  Top Skills

•       Snowflake database administration, including implementation, debugging/troubleshooting/tracing, and issue resolution.Data governance and architecture.
•       Strong SQL and query engineering, including data pipeline/ETL development, view/query authoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

  Additional Technical Skills (Required)

  Python scripting and automation.
•       Version control systems and code review processes.Documentation of architecture and program-specific flows.

  Additional Technical Skills (Desired)

•       BI tooling experience (Power BI and/or Tableau).SAS familiarity.
•       Non-Snowflake source integration (DB2, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, NAS, SharePoint).Snowflake cost and storage optimization (warehouse sizing, compute/storage tuning).
•       GitHub Copilot / agentic AI experience.LeanIX (architecture and dependency cataloging).
