Bachelor''s degree in Music Education, Instrumental Music, or related field.
Valid state teaching certification/licensure in Music Education preferred.
Accountability Objective: The Elementary School Instrumental Music Teacher provides high-quality music instruction to students in grades K-5 (or designated grade levels), fostering musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for instrumental performance. Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver standards-based instrumental music instruction aligned with district and state curriculum frameworks.
Teach fundamental music concepts, including rhythm, melody, notation, music theory, and performance techniques.
Provide instruction on band and orchestral instruments as appropriate for the school''s program.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and participation.
Organize, rehearse, and direct student performances, concerts, and school music events.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
Maintain inventory, care, and organization of musical instruments, equipment, and instructional materials.
Foster student responsibility regarding instrument care and practice habits.
Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of instrumental music pedagogy and child development..
Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community members
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching elementary-aged students is preferred. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annual appointment SALARY: Per Teacher Contract ($23,567.20-$44,290.00)
