Job Title:          Software / DevOps Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:  We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer / DevOps Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of a target-state architecture for enterprise rules engines, leveraging technologies such as Camunda and Drools. This role will contribute to engineering initiatives focused on workflow orchestration, business rules management, automation, and scalable platform solutions.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the execution of engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery within established timelines and quality standards.
  • Design, develop, and implement engineering and DevOps solutions using industry best practices and modern tools and technologies.
  • Support the definition and implementation of the target-state architecture for business rules engines, including Camunda and/or Drools platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize workflow automation, decision services, and business rule implementations.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure solution reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise for application, infrastructure, and platform-related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical strategy.
  • Participate in solution design reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate project progress, technical risks, dependencies, and challenges to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or a related technical role.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages including:
    • Java
    • Python
    • Node.js
    • PowerShell
    • Bash/Shell Scripting
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD practices, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and accuracy.
 

PREFERRED:
  • Experience with Camunda, Drools, or other Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS).
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration, BPMN, DMN, and decision automation frameworks.
  • Experience designing or implementing enterprise-scale rules engine architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, and modern DevOps toolchains.
  • Experience supporting architecture transformation or modernization initiatives.
