The Southern Berkshire Regional School District has a vacancy for a .5 FTE Administrative Assistant for Elementary School Principal & .5 FTE Mt. Everett Guidance Dept. Secretary
for the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities:
Because this is a shared role, the Administrative Assistant will report to the Elementary School Principal and to the Guidance Counselors. In their absence, the administrative assistant reports to the Building Leader. All duties are related to the support of the School District. It is expected that the confidentiality of office and school functions is always maintained. Establish and maintain a positive rapport with teachers, students and parents which will promote a positive environment and attitude within the school and community. Be familiar with proper operating procedures of office equipment and instruct other personnel in operations of equipment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Academic training and/or experience in office management
- Computer skills:
oMicrosoft Office-Word, Excel, and Power Point
oGoogle Drive
- Knowledge of Administrator's Plus (Rediker), Infinite Visions, and Frontline preferred
- Experience working in a school setting.
Clerical Duties:
- Communicate effectively with all school personnel, students, parents, bus company and community in general.
- Schedule and maintain meetings, interviews, and tours for principal.
- Maintain School Principal calendar.
- Schedule Principal observations and evaluations
- Answer phone and take messages.
- Help coordinate afterschool activities and ensure proper paperwork is submitted.
- Prepare and process purchase orders for materials and supplies
- Maintain office supply organization and deliver supplies to teachers.
- Review PO's and budgets with Principal on consistent basis
- Submit Requests to Post and Recommendation for hire paperwork to central office.
- Work collaboratively with all elementary office administrative assistants
- Maintain school records and student cumulative files.
- Review staff attendance with Principal and Designee
- Payroll records
- Filing
- Maintain all aspects of student records on software programs and in cumulative folders including, but not limited to new enrollments, screening, registration, transfers, attendance and reports.
- Coordinate transcript requests, including those for incoming and outgoing students.
- Assist in the process of registering new students.
- Assist in the College Board registration process for AP exam testing and SAT and PSAT testing.
- Support the coordination of 504 meetings and all appropriate paperwork.
- Assist with the coordination of MCAS.
- Participate as a member of the office staff, and share appropriate duties as requested.
- Perform all other responsibilities in the scope of the job as directed by the guidance counselors, Principal, or Assistant Principal.
Length of Work Day: 8 hours a day (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.); 190 days
Wage/Salary: Starting at $21.75/hour, Per Unit D Contract
