.5 Moderate Special Education Teacher

A Moderate Special Education Teacher helps students with diverse learning disabilities. They design customized lesson plans, manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and work closely with general education staff and families to support student growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate student abilities and identify unique learning requirements
• Create and update customized learning plans for each student
• Modify general education curricula to fit student learning levels
• Instruct students in small groups, one-on-one, or via inclusive co-teaching
• Monitor academic and behavioral data to measure IEP goal completion
• Meet regularly with parents, therapists, and school administrators
