The East Troy Community School District has a position available for a .8 FTE Elementary School Art Teacher (K-5) position beginning in the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will possess strong background knowledge, skills and attitudes that support personalized learning environments by demonstrating the ability to:
- Meet the developmental needs of elementary aged learners
- Design unit plans/lessons that incorporate content knowledge, the Wisconsin Standards for Art & Design, student needs, and available resources
- Assess learning in multiple ways
- Analyze assessment results and use data to drive instruction
- Implement a variety of instructional practices to benefit various learning styles and learning levels and ultimately support a "learner empowered" environment.
- Effectively communicate with parents and families regarding the learning environment and individual students
- Oversee necessary resources for innovation lab grades 3-5.
- Act as a reflective practitioner to consider effectiveness, set goals, and ensure continued professional growth
- Seek out and participate in professional development opportunities
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Establish a well-managed learning environment based on respect and rapport with clear routines and procedures
- Communicate high expectations for learning by ALL students
- Create a safe, flexible environment that ensures learning is appropriate for and accessible to ALL students
- Contribute to growing a positive school culture for students, staff, and community
- Support the school community beyond the classroom through committee work and extracurricular activities
- Foster creativity and a love of art that extends beyond the curriculum through an after school Art Club
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be eligible or hold a current Developmental Level Wisconsin's DPI licensure in Art (EC-A)
- Wisconsin teaching license 1550
- Ability and interest in coaching and other extracurricular positions are valued
