Brief Description:
Accountant
Summary:
The Accountant for AFC Industries will be responsible for handling month-end close, reconciliations, general reporting, and assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable if/when needed. The position will report to the Controller. This is a growing business with great opportunities for career advancement. Opportunity for Hybrid work schedule after initial training period.
Description:
Timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process in accordance with GAAP, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments.
Assist with the annual audit by providing required information and responding to requests from the auditors.
Focus on continuous improvement of the accounting processes.
Assist with daily/weekly reporting.
File sales tax returns as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
What you need:
Education:
Bachelor's' Degree in Accounting
Required Work Experience/skills:
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting work experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction environment
Strong analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and meet tight deadlines when necessary.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good inter-personal skills and collaborative approach
Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Targeted Salary $60-70K
